Joël's Story

The Salmari Story

So to start the story off and give in insight in my reasoning to choose the Salmari shotglasses you need to know the following:

I’ve just started working here since September this year, meaning I’ve only been part of this company for a few months.

I chose this job because of two main reasons:

  1. I was looking for a job in the same line of work but with an additional challenge/opportunity to keep developing myself.

  2. I was looking for a company where the cohesion between the colleagues themselves as well with the managers is highly valued.

Both of these reasons were missing at the job I left.

So from the moment I got hired there were once again to main questions I was asking myself:

  1. How can I implement al the new information with my own managementstyle?

  2. How do you become part of a cohesive group of colleagues and managers?

One of the traditions I discovered during my first weeks is ending the eveningshift with a collective drink. Wether it’s a shot of Salmari, a beer, a soda or a simple glass of water, every colleague who’s working that evening is there to have a drink.

The beauty I see with this tradition is that it clearly shows how cohesive this group of people is and the actual friendships being there.

So for me as a new manager and member of this group it became quite clear. At the end of a shift I always like to show appreciation towards my colleagues for their efforts.

How better to do so, not only by words but also by keeping the tradition alive?

So for my the Salmari shotglass is a sign of working at a company with a cohesive group of colleagues and where I as a manager am able to use my own managementstyle.
